The Hunger Games Movie/Book
So… a fact that a lot of people have come to terms with is that I don’t read books… I don’t have the time and it detracts from my Pokémon training.
But after watching The Hunger Games movie on Saturday I decided that there was probably a lot more to the story that I should know and I figured that reading the book may help answer some of the questions I had.
So on Wednesday afternoon as the family and I were leaving San Francisco to head home to Denver, my mum wanted to stop by the airport bookstore to pick up something to read on the flight. And I figured that this would a perfect opportunity to buy the book and start reading it on the plane ride home.
It is now Friday night, about 50 hours later, and after not putting the book down I have just finished it.
And I have to say that it was everything that I hoped it would be.
I know a lot of people say that you should always read the book before you see the movie, but in a way I’m glad I saw the movie first. It gave me clearer picture of what each character looked like and I kind of liked already knowing what was going to happen. In fact, I had already read the wikipedia description of the plot of the book before I saw the movie.
It’s safe to say that I am probably going to go out and buy the second book this weekend. And that’ll probably be my test of whether I think it’s better to read the book first or see the movie first, as the second movie probably won’t be coming out for another year or two.
So… in summary, movie = awesome, book = awesomer. I am now a born again book reader.
In the light of the morning,
Can we change what we
Felt and heard, Can we
Turn it into the glory,
Break the paths of our
Fathers before us.
Though we stand on the outside,
We will find what we
Once believed and will
Crawl our way to the clear skies,
Standing up we are,
Standing up we are.
Love this. Mainly because I love this song, but also because I love guys singing songs by girls.

There’s something about the depiction of older Pokémon trainers that makes me feel less of a dork for still playing Pokémon. I think I’d fit in quite well here with a little Chimecho just floating over my left shoulder.
Oh drunk Kurt. So good. But not quite as good as drunk Blaine.

While perusing deviantArt I came across this, which seemed appropriate considering my last entry.
